Austrin has spent ample time in Seattle kitchens in the last ten years, most recently cooking at Eden Hill. Growing up spending time in southern suburbs of the bay area as well as a few summers spent living in Lima and then Barcelona gave exposure to a diversity of culture and subsequently cuisine. This has inspired a deep desire to understand others and find ways to connect with people.
I have found food to be a great medium for bridging the gaps between people.
Throughout our friendship, Austin and I have explored the ways that pharmacy work and food service require a similar ethos. This has led to a fruitful and interdisciplinary exploration of food as a societal linchpin.
Cooking for others has long been my favorite way to show love. With Linger, I hope to expand on that relationship, connecting people not only to each other but to the systems that permeate our lives, to the narrative behind each piece of bread.
